What did Jesus die for? Have you ever looked in the mirror and considered that? ” He who knew no sin, was made sin …” Jesus was made sin for me? I mean really, me??? Earline, remember me, the one who is consistently sinning …. albeit, things are getting better as I choose to grow in grace and knowledge, but I am still a big time sinner saved only by God’s grace, through faith.
Actually, it’s all about obedience. There, yep, I said it. Obedience. Ouch, sometimes that word hurts. Better yet, try immediate obedience. Now that’s some stuff. Actually it’s my theme for this year, and we’re right at the 6 month check up. Let’s see, how am I doing with that? hmmmmmm … Let’s stay focused and just answer the question at hand. The Deaf would ask it like this, ” what for Jesus die on the cross?”
Somebody suggested that it was for some “He say, She say” foolishness.
The Religious Rulers said: He’s guilty
Pilate said: I find no fault in Him
But THEY said : Crucify Him
By the way, who are they? They were in the crowd, you might recognize some of them; The official street committee. Just maybe THEY and THEM included the 10 lepers He healed, or even some of the 5000 folk He fed. Could it be possible that today WE are THEY???
Anyhews, THEY charged Him with:
1. Perverting The Nation
2. Preventing folk from honoring Caesar, and
3. Proclaiming that He was a. King, but THEY were lying and truth was not in THEM, because Jesus declared Himself to be “The” King,” and not merely a king.
Hebrews 7:6 says that Jesus was sinless, so WHAT in the world did Jesus die for??? I know, I know ….. That’s cause I listen well.
1. He died to be Crowned The King of Kings
John 18:36-38, Luke 1:33
2. He died to Confirm His Kingship
Note that He taught in such a way that it troubled the world.
3. And He was Condemned for what they said. … I guess that’s what you call “He say, She say.”
Jesus was not crucified for telling anyone off, per se … instead He simply told the truth. 1Peter2:22
Really, if the truth be told yall, Jesus really died for what WE did, and for what WE do and for what WE will do tomorrow. He died for me and my mess.
To that I say; Amen! And Thank God !!!!!
