Jesus I know, and Paul; I know, but who are you?
In Acts chapter 19, the “who are you” question is very much alive and well, and so it is today. In Acts 19 starting in verse 11, we note that God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. Later a group of Jews were traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. The scripture says that they tried to use the name of The Lord Jesus in their incarnation, saying, ” I command you in the name of Jesus , whom Paul preaches, to come out.” Really? They were trying to cast out demons through somebody else’s “god” … Really? … ” but one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, Jesus I know, and Paul; I know, but who are you? Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them and ” kicked their butts so badly they ran out of the house naked.” That’s my version of what happen, but read it for yourself … It’s a very interesting account.
So, how does that play out in the world we experience daily? Living downtown Orlando, I get a chance to witness a lot of stuff … I see many things and encounter many people that causes me to ask that question again and again? Who are you? What is this ? Is this “mental illness,” or the results of “spiritual darkness?” or is it demonic possession” or “demonic oppression?” I ask this question almost every day of my life. Are all of these conditions one of the same? How will I know? Can I know? “What is this?”
And yet we know that “We are NOT fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in heavenly places. See Ephesians 6:12.
Many are experiencing some very real and deliberate attacks on their minds today. Now is the time to know that you know you are signed sealed and delivered in Jesus’ name.
As a matter of fact it is NOT uncommon to hear about and or read front page news stories about someone who has just committed a very serious crime against others, while family members and friends report after the fact that they were dealing with some form of “mental illness.”
What’s happening in your mind these days? Who are you? How are you dealing with the pressures of life?
It’s important to note that the different kind of “illness” that affects the mind, body and soul, for the most part, can not be identified with the naked eye. And no I don’t think they are all the same. There’s a distinct difference, perhaps we can discuss those differences through your online comments.
Mental, spiritual and soulish issues can look like many things and it can come in many forms. But I want to challenge you to get up and get ready … It’s time to effectively deal with each of these situations as you encounter them. No turning back to embrace them. You can do this! Remember, With God ALL things are possible!
So, when needing an answer to the question “What is this?” You’re gonna need to start by addressing that question to The Spirit of The Living God … The Holy will lead you into ALL truth. But it’s important that YOU know who YOU are. So, who are you?
Do you know that you have been redeemed by the blood of The Lamb
(Jesus Christ)? Has there been a time in YOUR life that you have confessed that you are a sinner in need of a Savior? Are you in a right relationship with God, through faith in Jesus? Who are you?
“Put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil … ” Ephesians 6:13
Obviously, the enemy of our souls is running rampant to carry out his job assignment, which is to: steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10. So, my friend, I am here to in-courage you today to: be on guard, be aware of who you are, know whose you are and know the spiritual condition of those around you.
It’s important that we take time to notice that people are hurting, because hurting people hurt people … Every time, without exception!
Living downtown Orlando, I am very much aware that I am exposed often to people dealing with mental illness, demonic oppression, demonic possession and so much more. These diseases of the spirit, mind and soul are found among the young, the seasoned, men, women, black, white, deaf, hearing, and otherwise. Please take the time to read Acts chapter 19 today and ask God to speak to you about YOU AND the people you are encountering daily.
Paul was a man used of God, you too can be used of God today. Are you ready? More importantly, does He (God) know you? Who are you?
Thru His Grace!
